Playstation Plus Required For Multiplayer Online Gaming

It seems as though the old argument "PSN is better than XBOX LIVE because it's free for multiplayer gaming" is about to change.  Multiplayer online gaming will REQUIRE a Playstation Plus subscription in the PS4 era.  There seems to be some leeway in this though because it looks like Free To Play games with multiplayer will not require a Plus membership. 

 

My take on this, a company like Sony cannot hope to grow their services features without a steady stream of income, and charging for the service is what is going to supply that income.  XBOX LIVE has 10+ years of charging for their service and we've all seen what that money has grown that service into.  I expect the online landscape of Playstation to change massively as a result of this.
